Watch our Wax-Dipping Video Here

Wax Dipping involves boiling wooden beekeeping equipment in a special paraffin microcrystalline wax, removing moisture and waterproofing the equipment. Wax dipping removes the need for paint, and weatherproofs your equipment.

As well as selling wax-dipped equipment, we also offer wax dipping to customers who would like to have their own equipment dipped.

Custom Wax Dipping Details:

  1. New woodenware is recommended. Used equipment can be dipped, but must be scraped clean and free of loose pieces, debris, and paint, to keep wax tank clean.
  2. You can bring your equipment on any scheduled Wax Dipping day (dates specified below).
  3. We recommend that you call ahead to confirm timing. Dipping may be rescheduled due to weather or lack of equipment. It takes several hours to warm the tank to temp, and if there is not enough equipment to make it worthwhile, the dip may be rescheduled.
  4. Please let us know if you intend to bring more than 15 pieces of equipment, so we can allot the correct amount of time.
  5. Dipping can take anywhere from 15-45 minutes for small batches, and 1-3 hours for large groups of equipment. If somebody else is already dipping when you arrive, please be aware that you may need to wait until their equipment is finished.
  6. Cost will be $5 per piece dipped, charged at the time of dipping.
