Description
Drivert sugar is a pure cane sugar refined dry by C&H in Crockett, California, and it does two jobs well: feeds a hive through winter, and builds a fondant that sets clean. We use this sugar in our own queen operation, and are now offering it to our customers along with Nulomoline Queen Cage Candy Syrup to create your own queen candy.
How to make queen cage candy:
- Starting with an electric mixer or your hands, slowly work small amounts of Nulomoline Syrup into your Drivert Sugar, until it starts to stiffen into a fondant-like consistency
- Use caution with electric mixers, as they are liable to break if candy gets too thick
- Make the candy just stiff enough so it does not run!
- If the candy is too stiff it will harden and the bees will not use it
- If too soft, the candy will run (liquefy) and kill the queen and attendants in the cage
Store Drivert Sugar in a sealed container.
